Description

The track was built in the year 1958 by NASCAR founder William France Sr. Since the time of its opening in 1959, this race complex has hosted the biggest racing events, like the Daytona 500 and other smaller events throughout the year. During the non-event days, one can take a walk on the race track or can also get a guided tour on a tram. The tours start from the main building; the staff presents the visitors with the option of choosing between three different tours, ranging from 30 minutes to 3 hours, each more detailed than the other, as well as being more expensive. During the half an hour tour, known as the Speedway tour, the visitors would go on a ride through the Daytona International Speedway’ infield. The course of the tour will take the visitors past the NASCAR garages, and through the Pit Road, all the while listening to the inspiring and glorious history of this Racing Complex. However, the people who want to delve deeper into this world of race cars are best suited for the 90-minute tour that is the All Access Tour.

Through this tour, a visitor will have the opportunity to explore the entire 2.5 mile Speedway, with 31 degrees of elevation from various interesting points. This tour provides the visitor to pay a visit to the pit stalls. However, the tour becomes most memorable due to the exclusive access to the drivers’ meeting room, photo taken in the Gatorade Victory Lane. It also allows one to stand next to the car that has won the DAYTONA 500 champion that year. Motorsports fanatics are now also allowed access to the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America. And finally, for the people who want to absorb the real essence of Daytona International Speedway in the most vivid manner possible, there is the VIP Tour. While traveling in the cozy comfort of an air-conditioned VIP bus, the visitors are provided with specialized attention. The trip consists of a visit to the ISC’s Archives and Research Centre; a number of the most precious artifacts can be found here, such as Sir Malcolm Campbell’s Bluebird III. Next up is an access to the world’s most famous racing track, a ground that has carved the legends of motorsports for over half a century. The trip also lets the visitors into the drivers’ meeting room and pit road. It grants access to the Coca-Cola Theater, and finally a close look of the DAYTONA 500 Champions car.

It is the dream of every racecar driver to conquer the Daytona International Speedway. Now it is possible for the average people to experience the thrill of riding along in a 600 HP NASCAR race car or even driving the car on the 31 degrees banked track. One can take part in the Driving Experience and get behind the wheels of a race car for a certain number of laps in exchange for a fee.

The Ride-Along program is for the people who want to sit next to the driver and experience what it feels like to move at 250 mph for 3 laps.
